St. Augustine’s Seminary Lay Formation Program:

Topic: “Suffering and the Gift of Human Life” – Reflections on the Thought of Saint John Paul II.

Presenter: Dr. Julia Palmieri, Sessional Lecturer at St. Augustine's Seminary. We will launch our 2022-23 season on the feast day of St. John Paul II, October 22, entering into the saint’s beautiful and ultimately consoling message on the place of human suffering in God’s plan. Dr. Julia Palmieri will be our guide as we explore the meaning found in the many forms of suffering - from illness to infertility, from old age to dying - and ways to face the great cultural pressure to exert ever more control over life and death. As we emerge from the pandemic, St. John Paul’s teaching offers light and hope!
